SMILE Tennessee is a collective impact initiative of Hope Smiles, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists to restore hope and transform lives through dentistry.

In Tennessee, we are currently short more than 700 dentists, with 1.5 million uninsured residents. That means we have neighbors throughout the state who either can’t afford or simply can’t find the dental care they need.

We’re going to change that.

Our mission is to expand access to quality, compassionate, sustainable dental care in Tennessee.

We’re partnering with clinics around the state to ensure that even our neighbors in remote rural communities have access to quality dental care.

We do this by establishing dental clinics in metropolitan areas, cultivating a community of students, residents (AEGD program), volunteers and paid office staff from the SMILE Tennessee mentoring program to offer low-cost services to low-income urban residents.

We believe in using our skills and talents to pour into others. We’re developing a professional pipeline of the private practice dental community to volunteer, oversee, mentor students, and offer paid referral services through their private practice.
